Aloha, Donna, and welcome back to planDisney! I couldn't be more thrilled that you're here with this fantastic question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Thank you for making planDisney your go-to source for advice about how to make unforgettable memories at Disney destinations all over the world! We are always happy to help our fellow Guests, just like you!
Donna, you'll be happy to know that
Wailulu Bar & Grill is the perfect place for a royal feast. Not only is the food and ambiance fit for a princess, you might even have a seat with a view of Cinderella Castle in the distance! I can't think of a better combination than delicious food, dear friends and family, and a dreamy view of the Most Magical Place on Earth.
During a recent visit, my family stopped by in hopes of dining at Wailulu, and like you, we were unsure what to expect. We timed our arrival to be well after the typical lunch rush. As we approached the restaurant, we opened the
My Disney Experience Mobile App and joined the
Mobile Walk-up List. Since there wasn't a large crowd at the check-in area, we chatted with a Cast Member who was able to share some more information with us about the seating options. We opted for first available, and we were given an estimated wait time. During our wait, we relaxed in the comfortable seating area outside and took advantage of the hammocks by the water. I also noticed that there was a bar area that was first come, first served. There was a short line for the bar at that time, and it was a much more casual and lively area - I'd definitely consider a visit there next time. After a brief wait, I was notified that our table was ready, and we were seated indoors, adjacent to the large glass windows that offered panoramic views of the
Seven Seas Lagoon. Everything we ate was delicious, and the cocktails were to die for!
Donna, if you're hoping to dine at Wailulu without much of a wait, I suggest arriving as soon as they open and joining the Mobile Walk-up List as soon as possible. Remember that you'll need to use Disney resort transportation to get there or plan to park at the TTC since you're required to have a dining reservation or be a hotel guest to park at the Polynesian.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how magical Wailulu is at night. If you time it right, you might be able to see the
fireworks or the
Electrical Water Pageant! I suggest asking a Cast Member in advance about how to time your visit for those special viewing experiences.
Donna, I hope this is helpful to you! Please stop by planDisney as you and your royal entourage make your plans for your visit!
Bon appetit!
