If I (a GA resident) purchase park tickets for my children, but my mother (a FL resident) wants to gift annual passes to my children, can she apply what I paid for their tickets to the cost of the annual passes if we upgrade before the last day of use?

Hello there, Julie, and welcome back to planDisney.

I’m so excited to hear that your family has an upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. A visit is extra magical when everyone in the family can join in, like grandma. My kids and I shared a visit with my dad (grandpa) back in March, and since then, it has become a core memory. Seeing my little ones recreate memories from my childhood with my dad was truly special. He even got a good laugh at their bravery versus mine when I was their age. I hope your family gets to create new core memories during this visit, too! And don’t forget to make those memories last even longer with photos! You might even consider adding Memory Maker to your vacation package.

Julie, you will be happy to hear that your ticket purchase can be used towards an Annual Pass purchase and upgrade. I recommend visiting any Guest Relations location as soon as you arrive. Last time I stopped in with a similar upgrade question, I was advised that if I was going to upgrade, do it then, rather than wait. That way, you can enjoy all of the benefits that come with being an Annual Passholder during this trip.

You will also want to keep in mind that even though your mom is a Florida Resident, her residential offers will not be able to be applied towards the upgrade of your children's passes. Florida Resident offers are intended to be used for those who reside in Florida. Of course, she can still pay the difference for the upgrade, but it will not include any additional offerings. The good news is that there is an offer currently available when purchasing an Annual Pass. So make sure to ask about that when you speak to the Cast Members at Guest Relations during your visit at the time you upgrade.

Julie, I hope this helps answer your question. Have a great visit, and if there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know! Have the best visit ever and make new memories!

    See ya real soon,
