I love that your daughter has no idea she is getting engaged at Disneyland (and it sounds like her future husband will be a welcome addition to the family!). It will be our little secret...well, as long as she doesn't read planDisney answers!
I have a few ideas that may be the
perfect spot to pop the question. If your son-in-law wants a more public location with an iconic backdrop, he could propose in front of
Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland Park. The happy couple could wait in line for a photo, and then he could try quietly whispering to the
Disney PhotoPass Photographer to let them know what is about to happen. In my experience, other Guests love witnessing proposals and are sure to clap and cheer!
A quieter option could be in Snow White's Grotto next to Sleeping Beauty Castle. This idyllic spot is pretty and doesn't typically see a lot of traffic unless a Disney Character is greeting Guests there. Someone else would need to take the photos, as PhotoPass Photographers aren't often located here. Other locations for PhotoPass Photographers can be found on the Disneyland app after arriving in the United States.
Over in Disney California Adventure Park, he could consider booking a
World of Color Dessert Party. With delicious sweets, fun beverages, and an ideal view of the World of Color, this is my favorite evening experience. There are limited Guests seated in this area, so it is less congested and provides a beautiful World of Color background. He could quietly ask their server if they have time to film this monumental moment.
My other suggestion would be to book a dinner reservation at one of the Table Service Restaurants.
Napa Rose is an elegant option away from most other Guests, and
Carthay Circle Restaurant offers a serene, historic atmosphere. A more classic choice could be
Blue Bayou Restaurant, located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance on the Disneyland website.
