Hiya, Kelly, and welcome back to planDisney!
Your
Walt Disney World Resort visit will be here soon. I typically start packing a few weeks before my visits, so I hope you've started dusting off your Minnie Mouse ears! And guess what? I have a reservation to experience
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue for the first time in a few weeks. I can't wait! Let's talk about the menu for this rip-roaring dinner show at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
My family eats plant-based, and I was thrilled to see this family-style meal offers several alternative items, such as BBQ Jackfruit and Roasted Cauliflower. Now, I realize your little ones might not be excited about cauliflower, so I reached out to a do-si-do Cast Member to see if they could shed some light on what kids can eat for this meal.
Since the
online menu doesn't show a separate list for kids, the Cast Member said we must assume that only what is listed will be available. Although children pay less for their meals, they will be offered the same options as adults. But since menu items are always subject to change, it wouldn't hurt to ask your server once you arrive.
But you know your children best, and if you think they won't enjoy the experience, I suggest you explore other options. My son loved meeting the characters at
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort, and that meal is a buffet with many kid-friendly options.
My pal Louise has fabulous
suggestions for picky eaters if you go to Hoop-Dee-Doo. I think bringing along snacks or a PBJ is an excellent backup plan. And maybe your picky eaters will be inspired by the high-energy show and try some new dishes! Disney does sprinkle everything with magic, you know.
Kelly, whatever you decide, I hope your upcoming visit is a yee-haw of a good time for your family. Please
stop by planDisney anytime, partner!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
