Welcome back to planDisney, Allison! How exciting to be returning to
Walt Disney World Resort for Valentine's Day. My husband and I will be visiting the theme parks at that time, too. Maybe our paths will cross!
Seeing characters is at the top of my Disney must-do list, so I understand you want to be prepared. The tricky part is that characters have many responsibilities, so their appearances are always subject to change. For example, Pocahontas might need to take some time off to find a runaway Meeko, which could impact her schedule at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
My best tip is to familiarize yourself with the
My Disney Experience mobile app before you arrive. Tap the location icon at the bottom of the screen and then choose "Characters" from the drop-down menu at the top. You can filter by theme park, so tap Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and then select "Show List" to see a list of characters available that day. Experimenting before your trip lets you know where you might meet your favorites when you arrive.
Based on my recent visits, I've met Mickey and Minnie at
Adventurers Outpost. I bet they'll be incredibly romantic on Valentine's Day! I've also seen Kevin from Up roaming around, and I remember a sign to meet Moana at
Character Landing. I've also enjoyed watching the
flotillas, and you never know who you might glimpse sailing by on those. I once saw Scrooge McDuck from my table at
Nomad Lounge!
Part of Disney's magic is the element of surprise. Characters and princesses keep us on our toes, so when we DO get to see them, it's like an extra shower of pixie dust. Keep dreaming and wishing on a star; I'm sure you'll meet the characters you're destined to.
Allison, I hope your Valentine's visit is full of hearts, flowers, and Disney characters. Please stop by
planDisney anytime!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
