Bright Suns Brittany, and welcome to planDisney! Building a custom droid is such a unique souvenir and a great way for your kiddos to remember their adventure in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Now, let’s figure out what to do if you run out of room in your luggage. Fortunately, Disney makes it really easy to get your precious cargo home safely, including droids. You can ship your family’s astromech units from the store attached to the
Droid Depot workshop. In my experience, the shipping fee within the U.S. is usually pretty reasonable. And if your little ones want to play with their droids throughout your vacation, you can also ship them from your
Disney Resort hotel gift shop at the end of the trip. You can include other merchandise purchases together with the droids. Just be sure to hang onto the receipts to make it easier for the Cast Member to process the shipping.
After your visit to Droid Depot, be sure to look for
PhotoPass photographers throughout Batuu to get pictures of your kiddos and their new little buddies. Ask about
Magic Shots and you might find a surprise in your pictures! They can even
take a picture with a celebrity droid, BB-8, over at
Star Wars Launch Bay.
There are also some interactive games that your little ones might enjoy. When you enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the
Play Disney Parks app transforms into your
Star Wars: Datapad. Once you
create an account for your kiddos, they can use the app to translate Aurebesh signs around Black Spire Outpost, decrypt transmissions, hack into control panels, and complete jobs for the locals.
If you have a
MagicBand+, you can also channel your inner Boba Fett with the
Batuu Bounty Hunters quest. It sends you on missions, which is also a great way to explore the nooks and crannies throughout the land.
I hope you have an out-of-this-world visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in December! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
’Til the spire!
