It will be our first time this November. I have a couple questions, do you book the photopass before arriving like you do on a Disney Cruise or the Parks or it is something you add to your room charges once you get there?

    Welcome to planDisney, Mona!

I am beyond excited for you to experience your first vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth! As if that isn't exciting enough on its own, you will also be here during the 50th Anniversary Celebration AND the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival - cue the happy dancing!

Disney PhotoPass is a service throughout all of Walt Disney World Resort that helps you capture all of those magical moments along the way. You’ll see friendly Disney PhotoPass Photographers stationed with their cameras ready to grab your snapshot at various locations in the parks, Disney Springs, and Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Additionally, Disney PhotoPass service snaps your photo (and sometimes video) on select attractions. You do not have to purchase Disney PhotoPass service in order to have your photo taken at these locations, but if you want the ability to download all of your Disney PhotoPass pictures, you will need to purchase Memory Maker.

Memory Maker allows unlimited downloads of all the pictures and videos taken during your vacation and can indeed be purchased and linked to your My Disney Experience account in advance (which I highly recommend you do). While you’re on your vacation, utilize the interactive map in your My Disney Experience mobile app to view nearby Disney PhotoPass locations by selecting “PhotoPass” from the options in the drop-down menu at the top-middle of the map so you get as many photos taken for your Memory Maker as possible.

Disney PhotoPass photographers can link your Disney PhotoPass pictures to your account using your MagicBand or MagicBand+ or by scanning your unique PhotoPass code. To find your PhotoPass code, click the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner of your app and select “Photos” from the options. Click “Link Photos,” then select “Show PhotoPass Code” on the next screen. Attraction photos and videos should automatically link to your My Disney Experience account if you are wearing a MagicBand or MagicBand+ or if you are utilizing Disney MagicMobile Service. Still, I recommend making a note of the times you experience these attractions just in case they don’t link properly. The Disney PhotoPass Guest Support Team can use your time stamp information to locate your missing photos.

Mona, I hope this information helps, but stop by again if you need further clarification. Enjoy every moment making those magical memories, and we’ll see ya real soon!

    Until next time,

    Alyssa
