Hi Jeff, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I absolutely love the mix of relaxation and Disney magic at the beach resorts! So let’s make sure you’re all set for your stay next month.
During the nesting season,
Disney Conservation Team Wildlife checks for sea turtle nesting activity on the beach every day. I chatted with a Cast Member who said that they’re usually out around 7:00 a.m. each morning. While there isn’t an organized turtle walk, you’re welcome to observe and ask questions. The Cast Member I spoke with also said that there’s usually a turtle talk on Monday evenings at the resort. So be sure to ask about the latest schedule when you check in.
To get excited for your visit, there's
information about Disney’s sea turtle conservation program on Disney Parks Blog that you can check out before you go.
Now, on to your second question. You’ll find complimentary dispensers of insect repellent lotion around the resort, but if there’s a specific brand you prefer, you may want to bring your own bottle. I find that the no-see-ums are more prevalent around dusk and at night, so I like to bring long pants to change into if I’m planning to be outside in the evening.
One last tip before I go. If you’re interested in hanging out with Goofy and Pluto in their beach outfits, be sure to make a reservation for the character breakfast on Saturdays at
Wind & Waves Grill. I love the Blueberry Pancakes with housemade blueberry syrup!
I’m wishing you a magical stay at
Disney’s Vero Beach Resort next month. And if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney!
