Hey there, Holly!
Welcome to planDisney! Choosing to add an extra night to your trip sounds like a home run to me. Three nights means plenty of time for the parks, and a mid-day pool break or two! A friend and I recently returned from a visit to
Disney's All-Star Sports Resort and found the Surfboard Bay Pool to be the perfect space to unwind. There were plenty of seats, towels, and poolside activities.
Grandstand Spirits is just a few steps away, so you can grab a Mickey Pretzel and a beverage, too. Now that's a great afternoon!
Holly, I am sad to report that there are no waitlist options available for Disney Resort hotels. But this doesn't mean you are destined to strike out! Travel plans change often, so don't throw in the towel on night three just yet. I recommend
continuing to check for availability online, especially as your trip gets closer. You may find that night opening up as people change plans, before any cancellation fees may apply to their visits. You can keep trying to modify your current reservation online, through the
My Disney Experience tab of the Walt Disney World website.
Should you find that All Star Sports continues to be booked solid, consider a split stay (two resorts in one visit)! I must admit, I was hesitant to try this in the past, but I have recently become a fan! Disney Resorts are great, and trying two in one trip adds to the magic. Once you pack up,
Bell Services will transfer all your luggage to your next resort, while you head off to enjoy the parks. No hauling bags from place to place, and no need to use up your theme park time! Just let them know your destination, and your bags will appear at the next hotel like magic. Bell Services can even pick your bags up from your room and drop them off in the next room when you arrive!
We'll see ya real soon!
