Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is such an incredible choice for your
summer visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. It really feels like a home away from home, with such a unique and immersive atmosphere. Honestly, it’s almost like a vacation within your vacation, with so much to see and experience right at the resort. I especially love that you’re planning to take advantage of the activities offered there, because they really add an extra layer of magic to your stay.
I reached out to a Cast Member and was told that the culinary tours are not currently being offered. However, you can check the
Activities Schedule for Animal Kingdom Lodge to see everything that is available during your stay.
Right now, there are some great options to enjoy. From Monday through Friday at 11:00 AM, you can join a Lobby Art Tour at Jambo House. On Wednesdays at 1:00 PM,
Jiko - The Cooking Place offers “Wild About Painting,” which does require a reservation. You’ll also find fun activities like Movies Under the Stars and nightly campfires with s’mores, which are always a hit.
I would also recommend stopping by the front desk when you arrive, as they can provide the most up-to-date schedule and help you plan around any activities happening during your stay.
Since you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you’re now within your 60-day window to book
dining reservations and any Enchanting Extras you may want to add to your trip. One experience I highly recommend at Animal Kingdom Lodge is the
Starlight Safari. It’s a very popular offering from the
Enchanting Extras Collection and gives you the chance to view the animals out on the savanna in a completely different way, even using special night-vision equipment for an unforgettable perspective.
