Hi Debra,
Thanks for trekking on over to planDisney with your question. I'm happy to be your safari guide as you prepare for your journey at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Planning your expedition in advance is a great way to avoid unnecessary backtracking while maximizing adventure. Whether you're mapping your route to save some steps or simply to plan an efficient tour of the many attractions and entertainment options across Walt Disney World Resort, you can
view directions right within the My Disney Experience Mobile App.
I navigated to
Avatar Flight of Passage using the magnifying glass icon (second from right along the bottom of the app), clicked "Get Directions" and input
Festival of the Lion King to discover the quickest route between the two points. The app suggests exiting
Pandora- The World of Avatar via the main thoroughfare toward the Tree of Life on Discovery Island. You'll pass Nomad Lounge and Tiffins Restaurant before making a left near Pizzafari. Continue your trek past Creature Comforts on your left as you head toward Harambe. Once you cross the bridge you'll make another left as Dawa Bar comes into view then proceed on until you reach Festival of the Lion King on your right.
The app estimates the journey to be about an 8-minute walk, but of course, this can vary based on your particular walking speed and whether you get distracted by photo ops, Mickey-shaped snacks, or Character interactions along the way. I double-checked on Google Maps and the distance was about .4 miles.
Avatar Flight of Passage is an incredible ride experience, and as such, often has a lengthy standby wait. My family typically purchases a
Lightning Lane Single Pass for this attraction to free up time to experience other attractions around the park. We usually "rope drop" Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain first, grab a quick breakfast, and then head over for our Fight of Passage return window. By the way, if you're looking for a delicious Quick Service breakfast the Slow-roasted Pork Shoulder Potato Hash from
Satu'li Canteen is hard to beat, and available via
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering within the app.
I hope this helps, Debra. If you have any additional questions please chart a course right back to planDisney and let us know. Wishing you a magical visit!
Magic and memories,
Amy
