My family and are are staying at Fort Wilderness during a major dance competition. What is the best way to get to the Coronado from Fort Wilderness especially if needing to be there around 7am?

Hiya, Nichole! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney. You've got a friend (and a fellow dance mom!) in me, and I'm pleased as can be to help with your planning question for your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort

I'm so excited that you'll be visiting for The Dance Worlds later this month! This is such an awesome event, bringing talented all-star dance teams from around the globe to Walt Disney World to compete for a coveted championship trophy. The competition takes over Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for the weekend and is a blast for athletes and spectators alike.

It sounds like you've chosen to stay a bit removed from the action at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort for some time closer to nature! There is so much to do at Fort Wilderness when you're not cheering on your favorite dancers, from horseback riding at Tri-Circle-D Ranch to s'mores around the campfire with everyone's favorite chipmunks, Chip and Dale.  And of course no visit is complete without taking in the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, which is one of our family's favorite Walt Disney World experiences!

Nichole, your best bet to get to Coronado for your early-morning call time is by car. If you're driving to Walt Disney World, I would simply plan to travel back and forth for the competition days so you have some freedom to leave for a break or a meal if you have a long wait between routines. The drive takes about 11-14 minutes and should be a breeze that time of day.

You can also use rideshare, which is my preferred mode of transportation if I'm traveling between resorts that aren't connected by Walt Disney World transportation. No matter what time of day, I find that there are many available drivers and the fares tend to be pretty low. Keep in mind that Lyft and Uber have to pick up and drop off Guests at the main resort entrance, so you will need to account for some travel time to the front of the property. The internal buses that run through Fort Wilderness don't start until 6:30am.

I hope this information is just what you need for your planning purposes, Nichole! Now you can focus on packing all your most fabulous fan gear to support your dancers at Worlds. I'll be wishing on a star that it's a successful and fun experience! Thanks again for twirling on over to planDisney and please don't hesitate to reach out directly if I can help with any additional questions.
