Hi Blake, and welcome to planDisney!
I’m still hyped up from my second Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend experience and gearing up for my first ever
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, so you’ve come to the right place to get vacation suggestions. Let’s get into it!
First things first, you’ll want to mark your calendar for the following registration dates: July 23, 2024 for Club runDisney members and July 30, 2024 for the general public. Of course, set your vacation countdown for February 20, 2025 for the actual race weekend. And if you can arrive at the Most Magical Place on Earth a day or two before then, that’s even better. This will give you more time to relax at your Resort hotel, take your time at the runDisney expo (for race bib pick-up and merchandise shopping), and even get in some early theme park fun!
In order to secure a spot in the race(s), when registration day arrives, have all of your racers’ information ready to go. Know exactly which races that you want to register for and, of course, have an active Disney account. Registration usually opens around 10 a.m. EST. The registration zips by, but get in there early and with a strong Internet signal, and you should be good to go!
Walt Disney World Resort
vacation packages and hotel stays for 2025 should open around late spring or early summer in 2024. However, follow the
Disney Parks Blog to be among the first to know when the dates are available to book. Staying anywhere on property will give you access to the complimentary buses to the races. I’ve driven to runDisney races, but I like that the buses take you to the front of the parking lot and that you get to meet other runners while in route. If I were to give any Resort hotels bonus points for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend, I would award them to the hotels along the Disney Monorail loop or the
Disney BoardWalk area because the race routes tend to be near those locations. If any of your family members aren’t running, they can cheer you on more easily if you’re staying at those hotels.
AN EXTRA GEM: I highly recommend that you join or visit online social groups to get ideas from their runDisney race weekend experiences. Stay up-to-date with the latest runDisney news straight from the source via the runDisney website and
Instagram page as well.
It’s never too early to begin training, so good luck on your journey! Your family is going to love running every magical mile, eating all of the Disney snacks, and experiencing the thrills at the parks!

Magic always,
