Hi, we were planning to visit Epcot on November 3rd, but we find out that this race is happening. Disney Wine & Dine 5K, will be possible anyway to visit Epcot or we should pick another day?

    Hey there, Sonia!

Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for returning with another great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. Oh boy! You're just days away from your next trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. As you finalize your itinerary and begin packing your bags, let's devise a plan for your exciting day at EPCOT!

Sonia, runDisney events allow participants to run through the theme parks and on the roadways throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. While you may notice a few operational changes and road closures during race weekends (especially during the morning hours), the theme parks will be open for your enjoyment, as usual! You are correct - the Disney Wine & Dine 5K will be taking place on November 3, 2023. This year's race will begin and end near the EPCOT parking area and will circumnavigate the World Showcase! Sonia, since the 5K race starts at 5:00 a.m., it's likely that you won't see any runners remaining on the course when you arrive at EPCOT. I don't anticipate any interruptions to your day in the theme park, so I encourage you to go check out the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, as planned!

As I mentioned, you'll want to be prepared for some minor operational changes on property during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. If you'll be in the theme parks during the morning of the half marathon, know that you may encounter crossing zones for runners traversing the course. In my experience, Cast Members have done a fantastic job of routing runners through the theme parks with minimal interruptions to the Guest experience! I encourage you to be patient and supportive of those participating in the race. If you're concerned about interruptions caused by the race, I might recommend starting your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park or Magic Kingdom Park during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon on November 5, 2023, as the course does not route runners through those parks.

Sonia, I hope you've found this information useful as you wrap up your final vacation plans! If you have any additional questions, feel free to revisit planDisney before or during your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
