Our family is getting the Standard Dining Plan, but it's a lot of food. Last time, we ended up with extra Quick Service and Snack credits left. If this happens again, what do you recommend for "get it now and eat it later" credit uses?

It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you to planDisney, Ben. And now I invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as the dining room proudly presents: your dinner! Or more accurately, while I proudly present you with suggestions to maximize the use of those fabulous Disney Dining Plan meals and snacks.

I love adding the Disney Dining Plan to my vacation, Ben, but you’re right, it is a lot of food! I too have found myself with remaining quick-service meals and snacks to use on the last day of my vacation. Let me offer you some suggestions that worked for me! One of my favorite things to do with my remaining snacks is to stop by Goofy’s Candy Company in Disney Springs. Here I load up on cookies, candies, popcorn, and other treats that can be eaten when we return home or given to friends and family as gifts. One of my friends shared a great tip for getting those snacks home: pack Tupperware or small storage containers to safely store and keep those goodies fresh as you travel home. Now I always travel with an airtight container or two!

The best way I have found to use up those quick-service meals, is to use a few on the arrival and departure days. Since you receive one quick-service meal per person per night of stay, you won’t have as many quick-service meals as you will days, so if you arrive early enough, go ahead and dive into a meal. The same is true on your departure day. Grab a quick-service meal or two before departing since your remaining meals and snacks do not expire until midnight on the day you check out. The Polite Pig is one of my favorite quick-service options in Disney Springs. The Butcher Board for Two is a lovely assortment of smoked meat and sides. It will use two quick-service meals but can easily feed more than two people.

Soup du jour, hot hors d'oeuvres, why we only live to serve. Try the grey stuff, it's delicious.
Don't believe me? Ask the dishes! I hope you enjoy using your Disney Dining Plan during your Walt Disney World vacation, Ben. Whenever we can help answer your Disney vacation questions, please *Be Our Guest*!

    Happy Dining!
