Howdy Virginia!
Welcome to
planDisney, a group of the rootinest, tootinest Disney vacation enthusiasts you will ever meet. I’m glad you decided to ask about opening your hotel room door with different devices. I am happy to *round up* an answer for you.
Disney MagicMobile service is a feature of the
My Disney Experience app that allows you to use an eligible iPhone, Apple Watch, or Android phone to enter theme parks (with valid admission and theme park reservation, if applicable), link
Disney PhotoPass images to your Disney account, check in at
Lightning Lane entrances (separate purchase required), and charge food and merchandise purchases to the payment card on file at your Disney Resort hotel room during your stay. To use the MagicMobile service, link your tickets, resort hotel reservations, memberships, and passes to your Disney account. Then set up your pass and select a style by going to the 3-line icon in the bottom right corner of the My Disney Experience app. Select the Magic Mobile tile and follow the instructions to choose your pass style. Finally, you will add your MagicMobile pass to your wallet by selecting the (+) icon and following the prompts.
Currently, you cannot unlock your
Disney Resort hotel room door using an Apple Watch. However, you can unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door with a
MagicBand, the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone, or a Key to the World Card. Before using the My Disney Experience app to unlock your door, ensure you have downloaded the app, allowed it to use Bluetooth, and linked your Disney Resort hotel reservation to your My Disney account. When you're ready to unlock the door, open the My Disney Experience app and locate your Disney Resort hotel reservation. Select “Unlock Door” and consent to use your device for unlocking you room door. Hold your mobile device against the door lock to unlock the door.
You’ve got a friend in me, Virginia! I hope this helps you use the latest technology to enjoy your
Walt Disney World vacation. If we can answer any more of your vacation questions or offer tips or recommendations, please come back here to planDisney. We are always happy to assist you!
