Hi, we are a family of four ( 2xA and 2 kids) looking to visit Disney in May 2026. My questions are: - when is the earliest we can book - where to stay on site that’s affordable but had kitchen and 2 bedroom - how would we best get to cape canavrel no car

Hi Graham, and welcome to planDisney. There’s nothing more exciting than planning a Disney vacation, so let’s get your questions answered!

Last year, Disney World resort stays and theme park tickets for 2025 opened for booking in late February. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for an announcement on when you can start making 2026 reservations.

Now let’s talk about where to stay. It sounds like a 2-Bedroom Villa might be just what you’re looking for! There are several resort hotels to choose from, but Saratoga Springs Resort and Old Key West Resort are usually a little more affordable than the other options. The 2-Bedroom Villas there have a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and at least two bathrooms (some 2-Bedroom Villas, like the ones at Bay Lake Tower, have three bathrooms).

Saratoga Springs Resort is right next to Disney Springs, making it easy to pop over for the wide array of restaurants and shopping. It’s also home to Lake Buena Vista Golf Course in case you like to play. Now, Old Key West Resort is one of my favorites because it has such a relaxing vibe! Sometimes I’ll stop by just to eat at Olivia’s Cafe, even if I’m not staying there. Be sure to try the Conch Fritters, it comes with an amazing Key Lime-Mustard!

If the 2-Bedroom Villas are a little too pricey, you might also look at the 1-Bedroom Villas or the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. While these Villas only have one bedroom, they also have a pull-out sofa or Murphy bed in the living room. Just like the 2-Bedroom Villas, the 1-Bedroom Villas also have a full kitchen for channeling your inner Remy or Tiana!

Now turning to your last question about getting to Cape Canaveral. If you’re setting sail on Disney Cruise Line, you can book transportation between Disney World Resort hotels and the Port Canaveral cruise terminal through Disney Cruise Line. If you’re looking to do some sightseeing around Cape Canaveral, I’d recommend renting a car through the Car Care Center or using a service like Mears Transportation or ride share.

I hope you have a most magical stay at Disney World next year! We’d love to have you back at planDisney if you have any other questions before your trip.
