We are a family of 5 and first time cruisers! Will there be strangers sat at our table with us at dinner? If I choose “private table” under requests, will I be sat in the back of the room away from the show? Specifically asking for the Frozen dinner mainly

    Ahoy there, Megan!

Welcome aboard planDisney! A first cruise for your family of five is exciting enough, but adding dinner in Arendelle to the adventure makes it even better. I completely understand wanting a great view of the entertainment while also keeping dinner as family time, so let’s thaw out some of the mystery surrounding your seating!

The not-so-magical news is that I can’t guarantee whether another party will be seated with your crew. That said, with a family of five, I think the chances of sharing a table are very low. My crew is a family of four, and in more than 20 sailings, we’ve never requested a private table and have never been seated with other Guests. You’ll likely have other tables very close to yours, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be dining together or even sharing the same serving team. Think friendly neighbors in Arendelle rather than unexpected additions to the family!

As for requesting a private table, that does not automatically mean you’ll be banished to the far reaches of the dining room like Marshmallow guarding Elsa’s ice palace. But since your biggest priority seems to be having a great view of the show at Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, I’d personally use your request for “Near the center of the dining room” instead. Based on my experience, I think the chance of a family of five being seated with another party is low enough that I’d rather use that request to improve your odds of being closer to the action.

Of course, all table preferences are requests, and the Dining Team will do their best to accommodate them, but nothing is guaranteed. When Guests do share tables, you’re more likely to see smaller parties of two or three paired together than a larger family like yours. And wherever you end up sitting in Arendelle, there’s plenty happening throughout the dining room, so you won’t need Sven’s eyesight to know there’s a celebration underway!

I hope this helps you feel a little more confident about your dining plans as your family gets ready for its very first cruise. I’d request a spot near the center, then leave the seating chart to the Dining Team and get ready to celebrate like the gates of Arendelle have finally opened for the first time!

Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
    Dustin
