Ahoy, Ashley!
Welcome aboard planDisney! You certainly got right to the important questions, and I like your style! Whether you’re looking forward to a tropical cocktail by the pool, a cold beer while watching the ocean roll by, or something bubbly with dinner, let’s pour out some details on what you can expect to pay onboard.
Drink
prices can vary depending on what you order and are always subject to change, but most cocktails and mocktails generally run around $8-$15, with some premium and specialty creations reaching closer to $16-$18 or more. Most beers are around $8-$10, depending on the brand, while a glass of wine can range from under $10 for some selections to $20 or more as you venture into the higher-end pours. There are plenty of options in between, so you won’t need Scrooge McDuck’s Money Bin to enjoy a drink or two during your cruise!
One of my wife’s favorites is the Drink of the Day. A different featured cocktail is offered each day at a discounted price, usually around $7-$8, and she loves trying them because they’re often colorful, tropical, and a fun way to mix things up throughout the cruise. I’m more of a beer guy, and one of my favorite options is the
Beer Mug Savings Package. You can purchase the package and get a 23-ounce refill for the price of a 16-ounce beer, which can add up to some nice savings if you plan to enjoy a few beers during your sailing. Plus, you get to bring home the souvenir mug, which is a pretty great piece of treasure that Captain Hook won’t be chasing you across the ship to reclaim!
If you’d rather
bring a favorite drink from home, there’s another option that can save you a few doubloons. Each Guest 21 or older can bring one unopened bottle of wine, no larger than 750 ml, or six beers, no larger than 12 ounces each, onboard at the beginning of the voyage. Just make sure everything is packed in your carry-on luggage, not your checked bags. If you decide to enjoy your wine in one of the dining rooms, keep in mind that a corkage fee may apply.
One last thing to remember when looking at menu prices is that an 18% gratuity is automatically added to bar, beverage, wine, and deck-service tabs. That’s worth factoring into your budget so the final total doesn’t sneak up on you like Randall Boggs!
I hope this helps give you a good idea of how much treasure to set aside for drinks during your cruise. Whether you’re raising a tropical cocktail, a cold beer, or a glass of bubbly, here’s to finding the perfect beverage to toast your adventure at sea!
Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
Dustin
