If I never want to experience a crowd like on New Years Eve ever again what holidays or times should I avoid? It was too much for us! :) Thanks!

    Hi Tarah!

While New Years Eve is a spectacular time at Walt Disney World, it can also be one of the most crowded!

Some of my favorite times to visit are during the less popular times for most visitors. Typically, when schools are out of session: Christmas holidays, Thanksgiving, Easter/Spring Break week - for example, you'll find higher attendance at Walt Disney World. Summer can also have higher attendance, but with the except of the July 4th holidays, crowds typically won't be at constant peak levels.

One of my strategies to to try and visit near a holiday, but with a slight shift in dates. For example, we love to visit the parks the week before Christmas rather than the week of Christmas to New Years. By doing so, we can enjoy the park decorations, the holiday spirit and the fun of Christmas without quite as many people.

Usually, school or work holidays which involve just a day or two: Labor Day, Memorial Day, etc, will have lower crowds than longer holiday weeks.

Of course, if you don't have to worry about balancing school vacations and your travel plans then the fall is a great time to visit - September often sees lower crowds and is a great time to visit. Another great time is early January, after the holiday peak as passed.

Hope this helps! Be sure to let me know if I can help some more!
