If we are ending our cruise in Port Canaveral, what time that day should I book a flight home from the Orlando Airport?

    Ahoy there, Glenn!

Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your important question. While I like to think of the start of my vacation rather than the ending, all good things must come to an end, so let me help you with your plans.

The earliest Disney Cruise Line recommends Guests to book their return flights home from Orlando International Airport is 11:45 a.m. Travel time to the airport is about one hour, depending on traffic. Assuming you want to arrive two hours prior to departure (and I recommend allowing plenty of time since Orlando is a very busy airport), you will need to be off the ship and on your ground transfer to the airport no later than 8:45 a.m.

The way you spend your last morning on the ship will be impacted by the time you need to depart for the airport. If you prefer to enjoy a table-service breakfast at the restaurant where you enjoyed your final Rotational Dining dinner, the timing of your seating is based on your rotational dining time. If you had the early dining time, breakfast is usually served beginning at 6:45 a.m. If you had the late dining time, you can expect breakfast to be served around 8:00 a.m. You can also enjoy a limited buffet at the pool deck restaurant, which is typically served from 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. No matter what breakfast option you choose, you will be asked to vacate your stateroom by 8:00 a.m.

If you choose to have your luggage delivered to the port terminal by using the Standard Departure option, remember you will need to leave your luggage in the hallway the evening before. Don't forget to pack a day bag to carry off your essentials. You can also choose to have your luggage with you on debarkation day using the Express Walk-Off option. Your Stateroom Host will provide you with information about how to handle your luggage, so be sure to ask them any questions you may have the day before you disembark. You can also find lots of helpful information in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app under Debarkation Info.

Don't forget to have your Key to the World card and your government-issued ID with you as you will need these to debark the ship. And now we have come to the end of our story, Glenn. I hope that your cruise is one that dreams are made of! Let us know if you have other questions.

May you find your happily ever after,
    Shannon
