Are the elevators at Pixar Place Hotel really slow? Or is it better since renovations?

Welcome to planDisney, Danielle! I’m delighted to help you prepare for your upcoming trip to the Disneyland Resort. My family and I stayed at the Pixar Place Hotel back in November, so I’m familiar with its many unique features, including the elevator system.

The Pixar Place Hotel features a bank of four elevators: three standard elevators and a charming glass elevator that offers stunning views of the lobby and even glimpses of Disney California Adventure. During our stay, we noticed the elevators were busiest during peak times, such as park opening in the morning and as the parks were closing at night. To make the most of our time, we adjusted our schedule slightly: leaving our room a bit earlier in the morning and returning later in the evening to avoid the busiest periods. Outside of those times, we found the wait to be much smoother.

Since I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Pixar Place Hotel, I also have a few other Q-Tips for you, Danielle! First, don’t miss the Pool Deck area. It features a pool, waterslide, whirlpool, and a splash pad for little ones. The Pixar Shorts court is also located on the deck, where you can play games inspired by beloved animated shorts like La Luna and Bao. It’s also one of my favorite spots to lounge and enjoy the Disneyland fireworks in the evening! And be sure to keep an eye out for Bing Bong, who sometimes makes appearances near the Pixar Shorts court or during special character moments around the hotel.

Another highlight of staying at the Pixar Place Hotel is the exclusive guest entrance to Disney California Adventure. This entrance, located conveniently across the street from the hotel, allows guests to enter the park at any time with a valid park reservation and room key. It brings you straight into Paradise Gardens Park, near attractions like Goofy’s Sky School and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. From personal experience, having this entrance for a quick return to the hotel after a long day of fun was truly magical, especially for tired feet!

I hope this information helps you plan ahead for your stay at the Pixar Place Hotel, Danielle. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to me or any of the planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help you create the most magical vacation ever!

    To infinity and beyond!
