Hey, howdy, hey, Brad! Thanks for bringing this great question to planDisney. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins soon, so let's talk about getting around the theme parks with ease.
I'm thrilled to let you know that
Electronic Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available to rent at all four theme park entrances. Since they cannot be reserved in advance, my tip is to arrive early and secure one as soon as possible each day.
A bonus is that if you have the Park-Hopper Option on your theme park tickets, you can show your receipt from your first park of the day to pick up another ECV at your next park! You cannot take the same ECV with you, but look for complimentary manual wheelchairs if you need help getting to your vehicle or
Disney transportation.
Another option is to rent a mobility device from Disney's Featured Provider, ScooterBug. You can find their
contact information here, and they even deliver ECVs to most Disney Resort Hotels.
My mother-in-law recently brought her own portable scooter to Magic Kingdom Park. She cruised through security and the admission gate like she was in a parade! We found that it was best to ask at each attraction entrance what their queue and boarding procedures would be; she could stay on her ECV for some queues, but she left it near the stroller parking for other attractions.
Regardless of when or where you get your ECV, you might need to do a little planning when heading to or between the theme parks. My pal Amy has some great information about what transportation options accommodate ECVs i
n this answer.
Maneuvering the parks on a mobility device is truly a breeze. Feel free to review the information for
Guests with Mobility Needs for more tips and advice. You're going have a fantastic time visiting Mickey!
Brad, I hope I've provided some insight into using an ECV around the theme parks. Please stop by
planDisney with any additional questions!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
