Hi Joyce,
We're so glad you brought your question to planDisney. I'm excited to hear about your November visit and love that you are planning ahead!
While most transportation systems including the
Monorail, Disney Skyliner, buses, and even some boats are accessible to guests with mobility concerns, a Cast Member chat indicated that the
Walt Disney World Resort parking lot trams, unfortunately, would not be able to accommodate an ECV. From what I've seen, these open-air vehicles offer bench-style seats with no way to safely secure an ECV. Guests
visiting with strollers must also collapse those before loading and hold onto them while riding.
Each theme park has
designated disability parking areas that are located closer to the main entrance. As you arrive at the theme park entrance, have your disability permit available and let them know you are traveling with an ECV. They will direct you to the appropriate area which will hopefully allow you to be close enough to avoid the trams.
If you happen to be staying at a Disney Resort Collection hotel the park-to-resort
buses can accommodate 2 guests in ECVs at a time. Cast Members will direct you in loading your device up the ramp and help secure it safely for transport to your destination.
Minnie Van Service is another great option if you'd like private transport, but this comes with a fee. This is especially helpful when visiting
Magic Kingdom Park as Minnie Van Service drops guests right near the entrance eliminating the need to travel by boat or Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).
I'm sorry I didn't have better news for you today, but I hope you'll still enjoy a wonderful visit. If we can answer any additional questions as you countdown to arrival day please don't hesitate to let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
