I use a ECV when going to disneyland I looked into the cooler restrictions and I only find allowed dimensions must be 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high can it be a hard cooler for example a yeti cooler smaller than those dimension

Hiya, Jamie! Welcome to planDisney! I think it's mighty cool you stopped by with this question!

I am so glad you thought of checking the guidelines ahead of time. As long as your cooler fits within the size limits, which is about the size of a standard six pack of soda, a hard sided cooler is perfectly fine to bring into the Disneyland Resort parks. There are just a few extra rules to keep in mind. Loose or dry ice, glass containers (baby food containers are the exception), and alcohol are not allowed, so you will want to plan to leave those behind.

Now, let’s talk about making the most of that cooler space. I always like to have a game plan for snacks and drinks, especially if you are visiting during warmer weather. Staying hydrated is key, but to save space, there are refillable water bottle stations throughout the parks, and you can request ice water cups at any of the Quick Service restaurants. That makes it really easy to drink water without taking up precious cooler space.

For snacks, small reusable containers are super helpful. They keep everything from getting squished while you are moving from one attraction to the next. One of my favorite little tricks from when my kids were younger was bringing yogurt tubes. We would freeze them before heading into the parks, and they worked double duty. They kept everything else cool and then thawed out into the perfect mid-day snack.

If you didn't want to carry the cooler with you all day, there are lockers located in both theme parks, and in the Esplanade between the two parks.

Jamie, I hope you have a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth. It sounds like you are set for a smooth and magical day in the parks. If any other questions come up while you are getting ready for your visit, come back and see us anytime. We are always happy to help!

    Stay magical,
    Kimberly
