Do ALL the water rides at Disneyland get you wet?

Hi Sarah! Welcome to planDisney! I am so happy to get you cruising in the right direction to the answer to your question so you can plan your perfect Disneyland Resort day!

Water attractions, whether thrill level or not, always have the potential to leave you with a few playful water drops. Some attractions, like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, are pretty much guaranteed to cool you off on a warm summer day with a splash and a smile as the big drop at the end sends a wave of fun your way! I have been on this attraction and not gotten too wet, but it truly depends on where you sit and who is in the ride vehicle with you. Can you hide behind the person in front of you? I cannot say for sure, but I will admit it has helped me avoid the full soaking before! Make sure you have your best smile on display for the big drop photo!

Attractions like “it’s a small world” are technically water rides, but it would be very rare for you to end up with any water on you since it is slow and gentle. Now let’s talk about Pirates of the Caribbean! It is one of my must do attractions, and I have floated through without a single drop on me. I have also come out with a fairly wet existence! If you are like my planDisney pal Elizabeth, you might end up with a very wet backside, which remains a topic of conversation to this day!

Over at Disney California Adventure, you have the thrilling Grizzly River Run! I can almost guarantee you will end up very wet after this adventure. There is a Know Before You Go notice that says: You will get wet on this attraction. Guests are encouraged to bring a waterproof poncho, an extra pair of clothes or a towel to dry off after the ride. Lockers are nearby for anything you do not want getting wet.

Throughout Disneyland, and especially at Rushin’ River Outfitters near Grizzly River Run, you can find ponchos for purchase so you can stay dry and comfy on your water ride adventures!

Whether you decide to brave the rapids or not on Grizzly River Run, make sure to snap a photo with the 20 foot tall grizzly bear who looks more than ready for his own water adventure!

Sarah, you are going to have a whale of a tail of fun during your visit, and I hope that wet or dry, your day at the Happiest Place On Earth is filled with magic and laughter! Sail back by if you have any other questions as you get ready for your visit, and thank you so much for stopping in to planDisney!
