As a DVC blue card member, I have two home resorts (Copper Creek and Beach Club). When staying at one of my home resorts, can I drive to my other home resort (for example, for shopping) and gain access to that resort's parking lot for free?

    Hi Gary!

Welcome Home! I always enjoy answering questions for my fellow Disney Vacation Club Members, so thanks for visiting us here on planDisney! We became Members more than 12 years ago, and my only regret is that we didn’t join sooner. My kids have grown up on Disney trips and I’m looking forward to many more decades of vacations!

It is important to remember that Disney Vacation Club Membership, while it comes with occasional perks and benefits, is primarily your resort accommodation. Any other perk or benefit is just a bonus. One of those perks is currently complimentary overnight parking at the Disney Vacation Club Resort you have a reservation at. It does not include parking at other resorts, even your Home Resort if you do not have a reservation to stay there, even if you have a blue Membership Card.

You are always welcome to several hours of complimentary parking at any Disney Resort Collection Hotel if you have an Advance Dining Reservation at that resort. If you wanted to be sure you were able to park at one of your Home Resorts, having a dining reservation would solve that problem! I always love an all-you-care-to-enjoy skillet from Whispering Canyon Cafe, and who can resist grilled cheese and tomato soup from Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, or crab legs from the Cape May Cafe? And this is where you'll want to pull out that blue Membership Card to receive 10% off!

Since the number of Members who own a specific Home Resort far exceeds the resort’s parking capacity, and since people will try to park at the resorts to circumvent paying for theme park parking, the lot at each resort is limited to overnight Guests of that resort, and those with dining reservations. You can always ask, but be prepared to be turned away, particularly at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

I hope this helps to answer your question, Gary. And feel free to submit any additional questions you have to the Disney Vacation Club Panelists here on planDisney, we love talking DVC and are here to help!

    Wishing you Membership Magic!
