Greetings, Sandra, and welcome to the most colorful palette around...planDisney. It sounds like you're putting on your smock to get ready for a
Walt Disney World Resort visit during next year's
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, so let's talk about what the smallest artists can do during this rainbow of a festival.
I attended the last festival and was amazed at all the kid-friendly activities. The first experience I'd recommend is
watching artists make awe-inspiring chalk art along the walkway between World Discovery and World Showcase. The 3D art will have you rubbing your eyes! And then your budding artists can try their hand at the Kids' Chalk Art station nearby.
I realize I'm not a child, Sandra, but some of my panelist pals and I decided to try our hand at Figment's Brush with the Masters Scavenger Hunt around the World Showcase. After we purchased our game board, we had to search for that playful purple dragon as he hid in famous works of art. At the end of the hunt, we could choose from several art-themed prizes. My secret tip is that you can pick up the reward at the beginning in case your day gets cut short.
Young guests will also enjoy being a part of the Expression Section mural. They'll be assigned a color to paint, and the supplies are complimentary. Last year, I helped paint a mural of Figment and was given a bookmark of what the final piece of art would look like. It made me feel like part of a global community!
Please remember that activities and experiences for the 2024 festival have yet to be announced, so all of these suggestions are based on past experiences. But I'm confident there will be lots for your budding Picasso to do at the next Festival of the Arts.
Sandra, I'm sending pixie dust and paintbrushes that your visit next year will be a masterpiece! Please
stop by planDisney with any other questions. Your next trip is like a blank canvas waiting to be filled.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
