Can I donate my DVC points to Make a Wish or some other non-profit organization?

Hi there, Mona! Welcome back to planDisney--I'm so glad you've returned with another great vacation planning question. This particular question is hitting me right in the feels, and I'm so happy to help with the information you need!

How incredibly kind of you to want to share your Disney Vacation Club points to enable a deserving family to have a magical vacation of their own. As a pediatric nurse, I've known many families with critically ill children who have taken trips to Disney destinations thanks to nonprofits that work to make these kids' dearest wishes come true. I'm always very moved when I see these families at The Most Magical Place on Earth and the folks that I know who were able to take these trips cannot say enough good things about their experience.

I spoke with the always-helpful folks at Member Services, who let me know that you cannot donate your Vacation Points directly to an organization. But don't fret! They explained that you can work with a nonprofit to make a booking for someone else under the name of the family you are gifting with the stay. It's a generous and lovely way to share the magic with others and I am sure it will never be forgotten.

Mona, I hope that the stars align for you to assist someone special with a once-in-a-lifetime Disney adventure. Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney, and please reach out again anytime if we can help with any other questions to add a little extra pixie dust to your travels.

    Stay Magical!
