Disneyland,CA question: can I buy Mickey ears and have the names put on prior to arrival date? We are bringing 11 children and would like to pick up the personalized ears while the kids are in line for character autographs on main street

Happiest Greetings on Earth, Kristy! I'm so happy to welcome you to planDisney, especially with this delightful question about large group travel to Disneyland Resort!

How exciting to hear that you'll have an entire club of Mouseketeers with you as you visit 'The Happiest Place on Earth!' What a fun opportunity for them to have a personalized gift of Mickey or Minnie ears to commemorate their visit. While I'm not aware of a way to purchase customization on Mickey ears in advance of your visit, let me share some recommendations for how to do this when you arrive at the resort.

If you're looking for hand-painted customization on a pair of ears, my favorite location is inside Plaza Point where a talented Cast Member can add names, dates, special phrases or premium artwork for a small fee. They can also assist you in finding the pair of ears that work best for this type of customization. When I visited recently, they had a few sample books of options with pricing that can you view on-site. The Cast Members will help you fill out an order form with your choices and then you can make your purchase for each item. In the past, I've been able to leave my mobile phone number with the order form and receive a text message when my customized items are available to be picked up. My most recent order was completed within 30-45 minutes, although I'm not sure what an estimate might be for a larger number of items. I think it would be reasonable to expect that you could make your purchase in the early part of the morning and then plan to pick up your set of ears by mid-day after visiting your favorite Disney characters around the theme parks!

Kristy, another alternative might be custom embroidery at the Mad Hatter on Main Street U.S.A. Here, you can request personalized ear hats with custom-stitched names for each of the Guests in your party. The embroidery machines are really fun to watch, and they move pretty quickly so this might be another option if you are thinking of building it into your daily itinerary.

Finally, Kristy, you might be interested in checking out the personalization shop on DisneyStore.com where you can find lots of options for customizable apparel, accessories, and more! I hope this is a helpful start and that you find the absolutely perfect solution to make some magic for all the members of your travel party! If you need some other tips about organizing visit logistics for a large travel group, I'll link them here. I hope they're useful for you as you continue preparing for this magical adventure! If we can help with anything else in the meantime, please come back to planDisney. We're always happy to lend some heartfelt recommendations.

    Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
