Hello there! We will be at Disneyland Resort the first week of March 2024. Will there be any opportunities to meet Darth Vader without being a Disney Visa cardholder? It has been my grandson’s only wish for the last two years.

    Greetings, Tami! Welcome to planDisney.

You don't know the power of the dark side! My boys recently met with Sith Lord Darth Vader, and without much prompting, my eldest agreed to become his apprentice. Don't let this happen to your padawan when he meets with Darth Vader.

Currently, Darth Vader can found in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park near Star Wars Launch Bay. To locate the spot on the map, download the Disneyland mobile app. On the app's map switch from "Attractions" to "Characters" at the top. This will bring up Mickey Mouse icons throughout the parks. Tap on the icons to find out what Characters are in the area and the times they'll be active. These appearances are subject to change and just because a Character shows in the app today doesn't mean they'll be there tomorrow. Hopefully, Darth Vader doesn't have duties that draw him elsewhere during your visit.

Be sure you take your padawan to explore Batuu. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland Park is a great place to see all your favorite Characters. The last time we enjoyed a snack and beverage on Batuu, we met our favorite droid, R2D2, Chewbacca, and the Mandalorian and the Child. You never know who you'll bump into on that bustling Outpost. The Characters on Batuu are roaming rather than Meet & Greet spots, so no queueing. Just find a spot to people-watch and get ready to have fun!

May the Force be with you.
