Hi, Makayla!
Welcome, and thank you so much for sending your question to us here at
planDisney. I’m glad you’d like to visit the Happiest Place on Earth soon, and it’s a great idea to map out strategies in advance that can help manage your anxiety while exploring the theme parks.
The
Disneyland Resort wants all Guests to have a safe, comfortable, and magical visit to the theme parks. If you become overwhelmed by crowds, noise, or heat, or if you just need some downtime during your day, several quieter locations are available where you can regroup away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. The
First Aid locations in both theme parks are good for this, as is the back of the gazebo under Silly Symphony Swings at
Disney California Adventure Park because it’s a shady place off the beaten path to sit on a bench and enjoy a serene view of the water. If you’re in search of an indoor spot, head over to the Disney Animation Building, where the main lobby features mesmerizing images, video clips, and music from favorite Disney films in a darkened setting.
At
Disneyland Park, a short raft ride across the Rivers of America will take you to Tom Sawyer Island, where you can explore quiet walking trails or relax on a shaded bench under the trees to enjoy a peaceful view of the riverbanks. To find the break area nearest you at any given time, simply ask a Cast Member for assistance and they will be happy to help you.
Please also spend some time checking out the accessibility services and devices that Guests who are
deaf or have hearing loss can use throughout the theme parks and around the resort. There are many ways to help you have a successful visit with the help of the various accommodations that are offered!
I hope this information is helpful, Makayla, and that you have a magical experience at the Disneyland Resort! Please send us any other questions you have as you prepare to explore the theme parks.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
