Hi there, Ashyr, and welcome to planDisney!
I’m getting chills over here thinking about how you’re about to tap into the magic for the very first time. You’re already on the right track to have the best vacation ever because you want to feel as prepared as possible and, I assume, you don’t want to miss a thing. As a lifetime local to the Walt Disney World theme parks, I can say that doing it all in one visit—or even 100 visits—is hard to do. So, let’s dive into how you can use the new skip-the-queue system that can help you maximize your adventure.
There are indeed ways to skip some of the standby queues during your visit. One option is called the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass. These passes will give you access to Lightning Lanes, which most of the attractions have. With the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, before your visit and up until the day of, you can make up to 3 Lightning Lane experience selections for attractions at the theme park in which your theme park ticket or theme park reservation is for. You can take a look at each theme park’s grouped attractions on
this Lightning Lane Multi Pass webpage. Another option, which is perfect for Guests who want a quicker way to experience the more popular (and most thrilling) attractions, is to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass. Some of the attractions included in this exclusive list are
TRON Lightcycle / Run and, my favorite,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Single Passes are purchased for these individual rides.
When you stay on property at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel or another eligible hotel, you can purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Single Pass (you’re not required to get both) in the
My Disney Experience App up to 7 days before you arrive. This early access also allows you to make selections for up to 14 days of your visit. Staying off property? You can make experience selections up to 3 days before.
AN EXTRA GEM: As a first time visitor, don’t forget to pick up a celebration “First Visit” button from a ticket window, a
Guest Relations location at a theme park, or at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel front desk. The button is free and the (possible) extras that you’ll get from friendly Cast Members and other Guests when you wear it are priceless.
Ashyr, I hope that this helps. If you have any additional questions about your upcoming visit,
give us a holler at planDisney. We’d love to share more of our tips and tricks with you. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
