Welcome to planDisney, Ashley!
I’m sure that you’re counting down the days to your vacation! You sound like a super planner like me; I want to know every option that I have to do everything at Walt Disney World Resort. And oh, boy! I have great news for you.
There are many ways to tap into the magic at Walt Disney World’s theme parks. You can use a physical theme park ticket, a
MagicBand+ (or MagicBand), an Apple Watch, and even your smartphone (including an iPhone). Feel free to use any of these devices interchangeably as you scan into the theme parks, check into
Lightning Lanes, take photos with
Disney PhotoPass photographers, and more. This is thanks to
Disney MagicMobile Service.
You can set up DisneyMagic Mobile Service by making sure that your tickets are linked to your MyDisney account, downloading the My Disney Experience App, and then following the instructions shown in the “Set Up MagicMobile Entry” section. You can find this section by clicking on the three horizontal lines in the corner of the menu. From there, you can add your theme park tickets to your phone’s digital wallet. I love choosing from the fun digital card designs—for me, it’s always a toss up between the DOLE Whip and Orange Bird options.
Keep in mind that a MagicBand+ and your smartphone do have capability differences. A MagicBand+ that you wear on your wrist can vibrate, light up, and sync with interactive elements across the Resort (when charged). It can also help you enter your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room after a long day at the parks. Even via the Disney MagicMobile Service, your iPhone will not be able to do those two things. You also can’t put charges to your hotel folio via your smartphone like you can with a linked MagicBand+.
Ashley, if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth,
revisit us here at planDisney. Any of the panelists will be more than happy to lend a Mickey hand.
Magic always,
LeAndra
