Is Disney world open on new years eve and day?

Hi Anthony! Welcome to planDisney! The best part about being the Most Magical Place on Earth is that the magic is available for Guests to enjoy 365 days of the year! Yes! The Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Parks are open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!

As of the posting of this answer, the hours for the Disney Parks are posted through January 4, 2025! While plans for New Year’s Eve haven’t been announced officially, Guests can usually count on special fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT! Magic Kingdom has hours posted as 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM. EPCOT has hours posted as 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM. These also happen to be the two most popular parks on New Year’s Eve.

Anthony, given that Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT are extremely popular on New Year’s Eve, these parks tend to reach capacity. Once a park reaches capacity, additional Guests will not be able to enter the park. So, here are a few tips for enjoying a long day (and night) at the park on New Year’s Eve…

    1) Arrive early and plan on remaining in the park. Once you’re in you’ll be able to remain in the park even if it reaches capacity. If you’re not already in the park, and it reaches capacity, you won’t be able to enter.

    2) Try to book some table service dining for lunch and/or dinner. A long day in the park means you’ll need some time off your feet. A great way to rest is to enjoy a meal at some great Disney Dining locations!

    3) Enjoy some attractions where you can sit for a while. At Magic Kingdom Park I recommend Mickey’s PhilharMagic (my favorite!) and Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor. At EPCOT I recommend The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros.

    4) Stay hydrated! You’ll be on your feet and walking quite a bit. Don’t forget you can always ask for free ice water from Disney Dining locations!

For a PRO TIP, Anthony, Disney’s Hollywood Studios tends not to be quite as crowded as EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park on New Year’s Eve. It’s still a great park to visit on New Year’s Eve! The hours are currently posted as 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM! Also, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park has hours posted from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Ironically, the animals that call this park “home” tend not to be “party animals.” While it’s possible that hours for this park (and all parks) might be adjusted to remain open later than currently posted, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park will close the earliest.

Anthony, continue to check the Disney Parks Calendar for the most up-to-date hours for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day! As I mentioned, I wouldn’t be surprised if some parks remain open later than the hours currently posted!

    Dreams do come true!
