Hi Richard, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I love that moment when I put on my
MagicBand and know my Disney vacation is about to begin! Your trip will be here before you know it, so I’d be happy to walk you through the steps to link your MagicBands. This can be done through the
My Disney Experience app for yourself and anyone whose profile you manage, like your partner.
Open the My Disney Experience app and go to ☰ in the lower right corner, then MagicBands & Cards under Account. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and select Link Your MagicBand or Card. Here, you can scan one of the MagicBands, and it’ll prompt you to choose which person you’d like to assign the band to (either you or your partner). Be sure to double-check your selection because once this is confirmed, it’s that person’s forever! After you’re done, you can repeat the process for the second MagicBand. If you run into any issues, give the
App and MagicBand Support phone number a call, and a Cast Member can help troubleshoot.
MagicBand+ is sure to sprinkle a bit of extra pixie dust throughout your Disney day! In the theme parks, your MagicBand+ will light up and vibrate as you approach and wave at the
Disney Fab 50 character statues. You can also channel your inner Boba Fett and work on
Batuu Bounty Hunter missions in
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s a fun way to use your MagicBand+ to explore Black Spire Outpost and also a great excuse to celebrate afterwards with a drink at
Oga’s Cantina!
Now, my favorite MagicBand+ feature is that they put you right in the middle of the magic when they light up and vibrate along to the nighttime spectaculars! Sometimes I’ll bring my charging cable and a portable battery to give my MagicBand+ a bit of extra juice at lunchtime. This ensures the battery will last all the way to those evening shows!
If you ever forget to charge your MagicBand+ (I often do!), not to worry. The basic functionality, like scanning into theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances, linking
PhotoPass pictures, and opening your Disney Resort hotel room door, will still work.
And finally, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be happening during your visit, so keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for more details in the coming weeks! In the meantime, you can check out this
“appe-teaser” for a preview.
I’m wishing you the most magical trip to Disney World this September! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
