Hey Howdy Hey Charlotte and welcome to planDisney!
2024 has been a year of change thus far in the Walt Disney World Resort. The plan for
Theme Park Reservations has changed, the
Disney Dining Plans have returned and so much more across Walt Disney World. Thank you for stopping by with your question on Theme Park Reservation clarification. I will be happy to try to unravel the restrictions and make more sense of them.
As of January 2024,
Theme Park Reservations are no longer required for purchases of date-based tickets. These tickets are usually the standard tickets purchased through the Walt Disney World site included with vacation packages. If this applies to your reservation, I am happy to report that you do not need a reservation to get into the parks on your visit in September. Disney does require Annual Passholders to make reservations as well as others with special tickets which is why this is still an option on your My Disney Experience account. Just know that this option may not apply to you depending on your tickets.
Some of the other notable changes that may impact your trip involve the dining plan and the
Park Hopper Option. The Disney Dining Plan has made its epic return this year to the delight of many Guests. You have two options when selecting this plan which are the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and
Disney Dining Plan. These options allow you to prepay for your meals and snacks are are great ways to worry less about these expenses and more focus on the Magical memories of your vacation.
If you are still looking into the purchase of theme park tickets on your upcoming vacation, you will have the option to add the Park Hopper Option to your tickets. This option allows you to visit more than one theme park per day to experience more of the Magic the parks have to offer. Disney has recently lifted time restrictions when hopping is applicable so if you now want to visit one park to experience one attraction and then hop to the next, you are more than welcome to at this time pending availability.
These are just a few of the many recent changes that may apply to your vacation. You can keep up with all of the latest Disney news on the
Disney Parks Blog to stay up-to-date with all the new changes happening in the parks and to keep the excitement of your vacation going all spring and summer long! Feel free to stop by with any further questions, we are always happy to help!
Happy planning,
Nick
