Hi Selena,
Welcome to planDisney! While I don't like to think about you having to cancel your Disney Cruise Line vacation, life happens and sometimes it is necessary, so I'm happy to help.
If you purchased the
Disney Cruise Line Vacation Protection Plan, coverage is provided up to the day of departure for certain cancellation circumstances and during your vacation for other events. The specifics of the policy depend on the state in which you reside, so I recommend reading the information sent by email when you purchased the plan to view the specific
Terms, Conditions, and Exclusions of the policy. If using the vacation protection plan, you will
file your claim directly through the insurance provider, not Disney Cruise Line, so keep that in mind.
Some fees are non-refundable, including the cost of the Vacation Protection Plan once the premium has been paid or if you booked a stateroom Category with Restrictions. Fortunately, Taxes, Fees & Port Expenses, and Pre-paid gratuities are refunded regardless of when the reservation is canceled.
If you simply need to
select a new sailing date, with or without the Vacation Protection Plan, you can modify your reservation on the Disney Cruise Line website under the Already Booked tab. Select
My Reservations and then Modify Reservation. From there, select the reservation you would like to modify. you can change your sail date, edit your travel party, modify your stateroom, or cancel your reservation. If you cancel, Disney Cruise Line offers a Cancel for Any Reason option which offers credit toward a future cruise within one year from the issue date. Cancellation Fees and certain restrictions may apply and I recommend
calling Disney Cruise Line directly for assistance.
Selena, I know that is a lot of information and maybe not as concise as you were hoping for, so I encourage you to call Disney Cruise Line and speak with a Cast Member for assistance. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you don't have to cancel and you set sail soon!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
