Hi Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney! I’m always happy to chat with a fellow
Passholder. So let’s talk about the best way to purchase tickets for your parents so you can have a magical day together in the parks!
I'm also a Passholder who often buys my parents regular theme park tickets. I usually purchase them on the
Disney World website or through the
My Disney Experience app (you'll need to be logged into your
MyDisney account). During checkout, it'll ask you to select the guest who will be using each ticket. If your parents don’t have their own MyDisney accounts, you can choose Add a New Guest which will create profiles for them that you’ll manage (you can always
invite them to take control of their profiles at a later time).
If your parents have their own MyDisney accounts but are missing from this drop-down menu, make sure you’re on each other’s Family & Friends List. To do this, visit your
Family & Friends List, click the Add a Guest button, select Search for a Guest, and input their name and phone number or email address. They’ll receive a notification asking them to confirm your request. Once this is done, they should show up on that drop-down menu at checkout.
When it comes time to scan into theme park and
Lightning Lane entrances, if you control your parents’ profiles, you can add their
Disney MagicMobile passes to the mobile wallet in your phone. Alternatively, you can link a
MagicBand to their profile for them to use or pick up a Key to the World Card from Guest Relations.
While you’re in the parks this week, don’t miss
V.I.PASSHOLDER Summer Days which is currently underway. You can even
save 40% at select dining locations Monday through Thursday, which would be perfect for a special meal with your family!
I hope you have a pixie-dusted visit to Disney World with your parents this week. If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
