Hi there, David! Welcome to planDisney. A visit to the parks after 20 years is sure to be magical. I’d love to walk you through the process of purchasing your theme park tickets so you’re ready to enjoy every bit of your visit from the moment you enter the gates.
You’ll want to start by ensuring you have a My Disney account. This will allow for a more streamlined process when purchasing theme park tickets. If you’re using the
Disneyland app, which I highly recommend downloading for your visit, you’ll tap the (+) button on the bottom bar and select “Buy Tickets and Passes.” You’ll then tap “Theme Park Tickets,” and from there, select the type of ticket you’d like to purchase, followed by the number of days you plan to visit and the number of tickets needed. It’ll then prompt you to select your ticket type: One Park Per Day or Park Hopper. After making your selection, you’ll be asked to reserve your ticket date. This is an important step because it will create your park reservation for the date and park you selected at the time of purchase.
If you plan on purchasing a Park Hopper ticket, you’ll only need a reservation for the first park you’d like to start your day at, and then you’re free to hop back and forth between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park. After selecting your date, you’ll be prompted to process your payment, and you should be all set!
If you want to use the
desktop version of the Disneyland website to purchase your tickets, the process will be very similar. You’ll receive an email with your ticket ID, which you’ll want to link to your Disneyland app as well. To link your tickets, open the Disneyland app, tap the (≡) button on the bottom bar, and select “My Tickets and Passes.” Then tap “Link Tickets & Passes” and enter the ticket ID number from your confirmation.
