Using
Disney Gift Cards makes a Disney vacation seem a little more magical, doesn't it, Arianna? I was thrilled to get a couple as Christmas gifts last month. They are at the top of my packing list for my trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth later this week.
When you check into your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you will be asked to provide a form of payment to keep on file for any balance on your bill. Once checked in, you can use your MagicBand or
MagicBand+ to make purchases at
Walt Disney World theme parks, resorts and many locations in
Disney Springs.
If you want to use a gift card, you can stop by the Front Desk and ask them to apply it to any balance accrued during your trip. You can do this any time during your stay, but I learned not to wait until the morning when I checked out. The systems sometimes run overnight and charge any balance to the form of payment on file. The Cast Members helped, but it would have been easier had I stopped by before my credit card was processed.
You can also use your Disney Gift Card for purchases made on the
My Disney Experience app, like mobile food ordering and
Merchandise Mobile Checkout. If you have ever seen a long line at a quick-serve restaurant or gift shop, you know just how incredible these options are on the app! You cannot store a gift card as a form of payment on the app, but you can select Disney Gift Card for payment. You just have to enter the gift card information to complete the purchase.
Another tip from my experience is to register your Disney Gift Cards on the gift card site. It makes me feel better to have my balances loaded there. If I mistakenly misplace one, I can transfer the balance to another registered gift card without worrying about not being able to find it.
I hope this information helps, Arianna. If you have any other questions, please come see us again at
