My in-laws purchased a Disney World package for my family and them. They put my children under their account and now I can’t get their ticket information in my app. My children are minors and I need to be able to plan for them. How do I move them to my ac?

Hey there, Rebekah! A large family trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth sounds practically perfect in every way. I am sure your kids will love being with their grandparents and soaking in all the special moments that make childhood so memorable.

I'll do my best to offer suggestions based on my experience with MyDisney accounts. It sounds like your in-laws created accounts for your children. Unfortunately, in your situation, accounts for minors cannot be transferred. Don't lose faith! There are a few things we can try.

If your children are 13 or older, they can manage their own accounts. Your in-laws could invite them to assume management of their accounts by going to "My Family & Friends" and opening the teen's profile. There should be a button that says "Manage" and directions for inviting the teen to manage their account. They will need to add the youth's email address, which sends an email to your teen with a link to accept. Any theme park tickets or MagicBands+ assigned will automagically transfer to the account they now manage.

If you have little Mouseketeers, you can try a different approach. First, create new accounts for them that you manage. On your Family & Friends list, select "+ Add A Guest" and follow the prompts to create new profiles for your kids, profiles that you manage. Next, have your in-laws connect with these new accounts using the "+ Add a Guest" function. They should be able to find the new profiles quickly by searching for "Guests You May Know." Once requested, you will need to accept an email invitation. For the last step, your in-laws can open "My Plans" and go to the "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" tab under "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets." If the tickets have not been used yet, they should see an option to reassign them to another Guest. They can select the new profiles and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! these should be in the accounts you manage.

To minimize confusion, I recommend you pick characters for their profiles that make it fun and easy to keep their accounts straight. I also recommend your in-laws delete the old accounts after everything is transferred.

It gets tricky if your kids have a MagicBand+ associated with the in-law-created profiles because these cannot be transferred to another account. If they do and the bands have not been used, call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ line and see if a Cast Member can help. Sometimes, they can work some magic.

With all the potential scenarios and people involved, this may seem like a lot. I've done this before and found it much easier than it sounds. You might want to have your in-laws with you or on the phone. Go through the steps that fit your situation, and do it together so you can navigate the actions, emails, and everything in one sitting. It really shouldn't take more than a few minutes.

Rebekah, I hope you can arrange the accounts as you wish. If you run into technical issues, the Cast Members I suggested are a phenomenal resource for all the gadgets and gizmos aplenty.
