    We are going on the Disney Dream (17th August). Will there be fireworks on pirate night? What else should we expect? It’s our first Disney Cruise. Thank you

    Ahoy, Sophie! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your Disney Cruise Line questions to set you on course for smooth sailing once you step onboard. It looks like you will be embarking in just a few days, so I’m sure that your entire pirate crew is ready to set sail for adventure.

    Your 4-Night Spain Cruise from Southampton aboard the Disney Dream on August 17-21, 2026, is currently scheduled to have Pirate Night on Day 3 of your sailing. Unfortunately, fireworks at sea are not allowed on the European itineraries due to local laws and regulations, but there will still be a deck party and plenty of other ways to party like a pirate. Be on the lookout for exclusive character meet and greets with some of your favorite pirate pals, a themed dinner menu, and little treasures delivered directly to your stateroom. Many guests get dressed in their buccaneer best on Pirate Night, so feel free to add a few accessories to your packing list or even an entire pirate costume.

    The Disney Dream is my favorite ship and the one that I have sailed on the most often over the years, so let me provide you with a few recommendations of unique experiences that you definitely do not want to miss onboard:

    • Make time for a round of miniature golf on Goofy’s Sports Deck on Deck 13. Your entire sailing party can grab a club and have fun avoiding the crazy obstacles, while you simultaneously take in the amazing views from the top deck.
    • Both kids and kids at heart will enjoy solving a mystery with the Midship Detective Agency located on Deck 5. Grab your detective badge and casebook, then search for clues in the enchanted artwork located around the ship in this interactive experience.
    • Make sure that the adults visit Pink: Wine and Champagne Bar on Deck 4, which is tucked away and can be easily missed. As you grab a cocktail, be on the lookout for the dancing elephants from Dumbo in the bubbly themed room.
    • Do not miss any of the three Broadway-style productions in the Walt Disney Theatre, including Beauty and the Beast, The Golden Mickeys, and (my personal favorite) Disney’s Believe. Get there early to find the best seats in the two-story theatre located on Decks 3 and 4, then enjoy the magic of Disney storytelling live.

    Remember that the most up-to-date information and schedule of events will be found on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App throughout your sailing, so be sure to download it prior to embarkation.
