I am a disable veteran and DAS denied me the lighting pass. Is there at least a discount for the lighting pass for veterans and family? I came to enjoy this special moment with my family and now I am waiting outside. Sad for Veterans.

Hello, Angel, and thank you for reaching out to us here at planDisney. Your military service is greatly appreciated, and I'm so sorry you've hit a bump in the magic. I want to give you some suggestions to try while you're at Walt Disney World Resort and also for future visits. Let's get started!

My pal Frances is a military spouse with fabulous tips about military discounts on theme park tickets, Disney Resorts Hotels, and more. My favorite tip is to book a stay at Shades of Green, which is near Magic Kingdom Park. This resort is exclusively available for our military guests; there's even an AAFES Exchange onsite! You can also purchase theme park tickets there at a discount.

Your local military base will typically have information and theme park tickets, so please keep that in mind for future visits. I know that doesn't help you this time, but I have a suggestion.

While you're at Walt Disney World Resort, it's worth stopping by Guest Relations near any theme park entrance. Although there's no military discount for the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the Cast Members are always ready to offer suggestions to ensure you have the best day possible. For instance, some attractions allow guests to leave the line and return while the rest of their party remains in the queue. Please ask Cast Members before you join a line to see if that service might benefit your party.

I'd also like to mention that guests with mobility needs can rent electronic conveyance vehicles (ECVs) at the theme parks, so that's another tool to consider. These are available as a daily rental on a first-come basis.

One of my favorite experiences is watching the Flag Retreat ceremony at Magic Kingdom Park. This moving tribute is patriotic and beautiful. I think you and your family will enjoy it. I get chills just thinking about it!

Angel, I'm truly sorry your visit hasn't started as you'd hoped. I want you to know that your sacrifice and service are deeply appreciated. Please remember, you're always welcome at planDisney; I'll be here with a Mickey-sized salute, eagerly awaiting your next visit.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
