We have dinner reservations at Wilderness Lodge. We are tent camping in Fort Wilderness. What are our transportation options?

    Howdy, Grae!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks for galloping over with a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. It sounds like you might currently be on-site at The Most Magical Place on Earth enjoying a wild and wondrous stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground! I'd be happy to help you giddy-up over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge for your dinner reservation.

Grae, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite spots to grab some grub during any Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Whether you'll be dining in the company of true Disney royalty at Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, hootin' and hollerin' at Whispering Canyon Cafe, or enjoying the lakefront ambiance at Geyser Point Bar & Grill, you're in for an exciting evening! I'm happy to share that you have several options when it comes to transportation between the campground and the lodge. First, you could hop aboard a complimentary internal shuttle bus that runs between the two properties on a regular basis. This bus boards at the Settlement Depot Bus Stop near Pioneer Hall and runs approximately every 20 minutes.

Alternatively, you could utilize the complimentary ferryboat transportation that runs between Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. Ferries between these resorts typically depart every 15-30 minutes, and you'll find the boat dock near Pioneer Hall. This is my favorite mode of transportation across Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake - I think you'll find it to be the most relaxing option!

Grae, I do recommend allowing up to an hour of travel time ahead of your dining reservation. For a super speedy option, you could hire a rideshare service or Disney Minnie Van to quickly transport you between these properties. If you arrive at Disney's Wilderness Lodge earlier than needed, you could grab a seat near Bay Lake and enjoy the spectacular views!

I hope you've found this information helpful, Grae. I'm wishing you a rootin' tootin' trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any additional questions throughout your vacation, you're always welcome to mosey on back to us here at planDisney. We're all ears!

    Happy trails to you,

    Lauren
