Howdy Jennifer!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question!
You're speaking my language when you're talking about a visit to
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort - two of my favorite locations on Walt Disney World Resort property! Whether you prefer the rustic elegance of a craftsman-style lodge or getting back to nature in the great outdoors, you're sure to feel right at home at these amazing resorts.
At one time, there was a paved walking path that could be used by Guests to traverse the distance between the two locations, but it is no longer available or accessible to Guests. To travel between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, you have a couple of different options.
First, there is sometimes a bus that runs between the two resorts - you'll want to ask at check-in if this would be an option, and where to catch the bus. Second, you have the option of
Water Transportation. You'll need to take the boat to
Magic Kingdom Park and then switch to the boat that's headed to your final destination. While boat transportation may take a bit longer, it's a nice scenic ride if you have the time.
You'll be happy to know that, yes, the bar at Fort Wilderness is open for business!
Crockett's Tavern, located right beside Pioneer Hall (home of the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue), is the perfect place to wet your whistle at the end of a busy day in the parks. Crockett's is typically open from 3:00-10:00 pm, and serves up a
delicious menu of lounge snacks and specialty drinks. Did someone say Moonshine Cocktail Flight?
I hope this helps with your plans and preparations for what's sure to be a magical visit to Walt Disney World.
