If you rent a golf cart while staying At Fort Wilderness Campground can I drive it to Wilderness Lodge for dinner?

    Hi Michael,

I see that planning for your upcoming vacation is in full swing! You are going to have a wild time staying at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. There is so much to see and do at this resort that you almost feel like you have escaped to the wilderness right in the middle of Disney World. Make sure to check out the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue one night because it is a knee-slapping good time!

While Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort is super close to the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, they are two separate resorts. You would need to exit the campground onto a main road to access Disney's Wilderness Lodge and golf carts are not allowed on the main roads. Disney states in the rules for operating golf carts on property that they are not allowed to leave Fort Wilderness Resort. The best way to get between these two resorts is to check and see if the bus is running between the two resorts that day. The bus service between these two resorts has been sporadic for us in the past so I always suggest checking before you bet on this as an option. You will always have the option to take the boat to Magic Kingdom and transfer to a water taxi that sails directly to Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

If you plan to rent a golf cart or bring your own, be sure to check out the updated rules for operating a golf cart while visiting Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. For a lot of guests, golf carts are just part of the fun at this resort and they feel like it is a must-do. There is an internal bus loop that will take you to all of the main resort attractions if you don't rent a golf cart but these carts do make it much quicker and easier to get around if you plan to do a lot of exploring at the resort.

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
