On the dining plan can I trade in 1 full service credit and use it as a quick service credit instead?

    Hi Patty!

Welcome to planDisney - where we love to dish on all things Disney.  Whatever you have an appetite for on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, we invite you to be our guest so we can share our best tips, tricks, and answers to your questions!

My friend, Chef Remy, likes to remind us, "If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff!"  I love exploring all of the delicious food that the Walt Disney World Resort has to serve on each of my vacations.  Whether I'm venturing across the savanna to enjoy the unique and fine dining experience of Jiko - The Cooking Place, diving below the water's surface at Coral Reef Restaurant, or grabbing a Mickey Pretzel to enjoy as I'm walking down Main Street, U.S.A., there are a lot great options around the parks and resort hotels.  The Disney Dining Plan is a wonderful way to explore all of this and more!

As you know, on the Disney Dining Plan each guest receives one Table-Service meal, one Quick-Service meal, and one snack or non-alcoholic drink per night of their vacation package, plus a Resort-Refillable mug to enjoy throughout your entire stay.  Patty, I found some conflicting information regarding swapping and trading meals, so I reached out to a helpful Cast Member who was able to confirm for me that you can redeem a Table-Service meal for a Quick-Service meal while on the Disney Dining Plan.  For this to occur, you would need to have already used all of your Quick-Service meals.

If you have Table-Service meals remaining towards the end of your stay, you can always check Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability at restaurants in the parks and resort hotels. To access this, simply open your My Disney Experience Mobile App and press the "+" in the bottom row then click"Check Dining Availability."  Once you select your party size, you'll be provided the option to select a date and search for dining reservations or you can select "Join a Walk-up List." A list of restaurants will appear with their wait times.  You do need to be relatively close to your selected restaurant to join the walk-up list.  I've also been lucky enough to find some same-day reservations for Table-Service restaurants as well if you like to make a plan earlier in the day!

Patty, I hope you enjoy a delicious visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  Please stop by planDisney again if you have any other vacation planning questions for me or my panelist pals!

    See ya real soon,
    Kristi
