Hi Nancy,
I can not think of a better gift to give your grandchildren than the gift of a magical trip to Walt Disney World. It is even better if you can get that gift at a discounted price!
As a Florida resident, you have access to a
variety of ticket and room offers that help lower the price of a Disney World vacation. To enjoy the magic of a discounted Florida Resident ticket, all guests aged 18 and older must provide proof of Florida residency. The most common ways to do this are by showing a Florida driver’s license, state ID card, or even a recent utility bill. Florida residents can now enjoy the convenience of verifying their residency online when purchasing select tickets! On DisneyWorld.com, simply complete the “Your Florida Resident Information” form during checkout. In the
My Disney Experience app, verify your residency during the “Customize Your Tickets” step.
For guests under 18, there’s no need to show proof of residency. A Florida resident can purchase tickets for minors but must be present to provide proof of residency and validate the tickets the first time they are used. If you're planning to visit the theme parks together, this process should be as smooth as a stroll down Main Street, U.S.A.!
Unfortunately, if you are not joining your crew for their trip or at least accompanying them on the first day, this may provide some risks of the tickets needing verification when they arrive, even if you have already completed online verification. To be safe, you could meet them at Disney Springs on their first day and enjoy some dinner and shopping. There is a
ticket office located at Disney Springs where a cast member would be happy to do the residency verification without you having to join them at the theme parks.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
