Hi there, Kirsty! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question!
Don't worry, your
14-Day Magic Ticket does not start counting from the moment you land in the United States.
Walt Disney World has absolutely no way of knowing when your flight arrives, so your ticket validity is not connected to your travel day itself.
What matters instead is the first day of validity attached to the ticket when it was purchased. That is the date your ticket officially becomes active.
The good news is that UK and Ireland 14-Day Magic Tickets are actually very flexible. Even though they are called "14-Day" tickets, they come with an 18-day validity window. That means you do not need to use your park days consecutively at all. You simply need to use your 14 park days before the end of that 18-day period.
So, for example, if your selected start date is the same day you arrive in Orlando but you decide not to enter a Disney park for the first couple of days, that is completely fine. Those first days still count within your 18-day validity period, but you are not losing park days unless you actually tap into a park. You would still have the remainder of that 18-day window to use your 14 admissions however you'd like.
In other words, if your ticket became valid on arrival day, you would still have 17 additional days after that to spread out your 14 park visits. Many Guests actually build rest days into those 18 days.
Kirsty, I hope this helps put your mind at ease a little. Your ticket still gives you plenty of flexibility to enjoy your holiday at your own pace. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
